This is such a powerful reminder to live as the person God created me to be…

I ACCEPT YOUR INVITATION, GOD

(From Eldridge Restoration Year)

Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children.  HEBREWS 12:7

Victorious moments where you are able to break free of shame and the false self are breakthrough moments that will give you courage to step forward and live from that place.

I think of stories where the hero needs to come to terms with his true identity. Peter didn’t exactly have a high view of himself, but Jesus called him a rock.

Their peers thought James and John were knuckleheads; Jesus called them Sons of Thunder. Dear friend, you must hear who you really are, receive genuine validation, so that you can tear up the other scripts you’ve been handed.

You reframe everything by one simple choice: I am accepting God’s invitation to become my truest self. From there, you interpret jobs, money, relationships, flat tires, even your play time as the context of who you are becoming. You take an active role, asking your Father to speak to you, speak to your identity, and to validate you.

You step into your fears and accept “hard-ship as discipline.” As you do, an inner strength grows. Which will change everything when it comes to how you love God, yourself, and others.

Time to reevaluate this too—how are you viewing yourself these days? What identity are you currently living under? Write it down; name it, expose it, put it into words. Then ask your Father to come and speak what is true!
