John Eldridge is right on with this devotional reading from Restoration Year.

Your God is present among you, a strong Warrior there to save you. Happy to have you back, he’ll calm you with his love. ZEPHANIAH 3:17 THE MESSAGE

There are no formulas with God. The way in which God heals your wound is a deeply personal process. Jesus is a person and he insists on working personally.

For some, it comes in a moment of divine touch. For others, it takes place over time and through the help of another, maybe several others.

But there have been other significant ways in which God will work-times of healing prayer, times of grieving your wound and forgiveness. Most of all, times of deep communion with God. The point is this: healing never happens outside of intimacy with Christ. The healing of your wound flows out of your union with him.

Oh friend, let God love you; let him get really close to you. I know it seems painfully obvious, but I’m telling you few are ever so vulnerable as to simply let themselves be loved by God. Abiding in the love of God is your only hope, the only true home for your heart. It’s not that you mentally acknowledge that God loves you. It’s that you let your heart come home to him, and stay in his love.

Are you comfortable letting God get really close, and love you? All of you?
