AN UNDIVIDED HEART
(Eldridge – Restoration Year)
Teach me your way, LORD, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name. PSALM 86:11
Your healing from brokenness is about fragmentation, or separation from yourself. The “undivided heart” is what you’re after. Again, you begin by inviting Jesus in. Asking him to shine his light into the broken places. Sometimes he’ll take you back to a memory. Sometimes he’ll simply make you aware of a “young” place in your heart that needs his love and comfort. Keep inviting Christ in.
Jesus will often speak words of love or comfort to this specific broken young part of your heart. Sometimes he’ll ask a question, like, Why are you frightened? Often he’ll ask, Will you let me come to you? Remember, he waits for your permission to come and heal.
What you’re praying toward in these cases of actual brokenness is integration—you want to be made whole again. As you invite Jesus to bind up your broken heart, often you simply feel his love and presence there in ways you’ve never felt before.
____
Lord Jesus, you are my Healer. Come into this broken place in me. Love me here, Lord. Comfort me here. I pray you would unite yourself to this fragmented place in me, and that you would make my heart whole here.
Jesus will often speak words of love or comfort to this broken part of your heart. Just linger, and let him come.
